Obedience is the foundation without which it is impossible to train a dog. In theory, it is possible to achieve obedience, but in practice, a novice dog breeder will spend too much time and moral energy. And without knowledge of the psychophysiology of dogs and communication skills, of course, it will not be easy to instill unquestioning discipline in a dog. People without experience in training are faced with the fact that even regular exercises do not bring results. The dog ignores orders, does not recognize your authority – and all because there was initially no emotional contact, the rules of interaction between pack members were violated. In addition, dogs are social animals, they communicate with each other, so in some ways they adopt the behavior of other dogs.

Basic dog training course: the earlier, the better
From the age of one or two months, you should start training with a puppy, at first – independently (only with the owner). You are responsible for accustoming the puppy to basic hygiene and behavior skills. Do not forget that a two-month-old dog is the same child, even if it does not look like a baby due to its breed. In the future, these trainings and psychological contact with the dog will become the basis for turning the dog into an obedient one, recognizing your authority as the leader of the pack.
At three or four months, you can already sign up for classes with a dog trainer. Group classes are preferable for puppies, because dogs are social animals, as we remember. But if you have an adult and disobedient, aggressive dog, then it is better to pay attention to individual training. - Basic commands – “come to me”, “place”;
- commands “no” and “no”;
- commands “heel”, “sit”, “lie down”;

Basic commands and obedience are the basis for further training of the dog. But also at the basic stage the key moment of the relationship between dog and person is cultivated – trust. General dog obedience course: unquestioning obedience for the safety of you and your dog
If you walk in a public area, and let your dog run around, naturally, you cannot watch him every second. General training is important, as it helps to eliminate threats to your pet’s safety. Advanced dog discipline skills include the following skills:
- listen only to the owner’s commands;
- do not take suspicious treats from the ground, from other people’s hands;
- do not pay attention to sharp extraneous sounds;
- respond to the owner’s gestures as commands.
If you have a problematic adult dog, then the general training course is also a good method of behavior correction. Small puppies can still be forgiven for some disobedience due to their age. But in adult dogs, such behavior can pose a serious danger to them and to others.
Here, the training program is selected individually, because the result is influenced not only by confidence in the owner’s authority. The presence of psychological trauma in the dog’s past, the reasons for disobedience, and the characteristics of the breed – these factors determine which training scheme will be optimal.
